I saw three ships come sailing in

I  saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day in the morning.

And what was in those ships all three

The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,

Pray, wither sailed those  ships all three,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

And all the souls on earth shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

Turmezei Erzsébet: Adventi  éjszaka

Fehér takaró,
ezüst fénytartó,
valót eltakaró.
Mintha nem volna más,
csak ez a ragyogás:
titokzatos, csodás.
Nincsen se hang, se zaj,
nincsen se seb, se baj,
se sóhajtás, se jaj…
Se bün, se szenny, se sár,
se szin, se könny, se kár,
csak hó és holdsugár.
Hiszen igy volna jó.
De nem ez a való.
Csal a fénytakaró.
Alatta szenvedés,
szenny, sár, … elfödni és
elrejteni kevés
a hó és holdsugár.
De Valakire vár
a holdfényes határ.
S ez az adventi  mély,
havas és holdas éj,
titkot tud: Jön! … Ne félj!
